Trulli to Learn Indy Appeal Result on October 26

Monday October 15th, 2001

Jordan-Honda driver Jarno Trulli will learn if his appeal against disqualification from the United States Grand Prix in September has been successful on Friday, October 26.

Italian Trulli finished fourth at Indianapolis but was disqualified after the race stewards deemed that the board under his Jordan was illegally short. Trulli's team immediately appealed and their case will be heard by the FIA's International Court of Appeal, with the result announced on Saturday, October 27.

If Jordan are successful in their appeal and Trulli is reinstated then they will gain two more points (three for Trulli's fourth place minus one for Alesi's demotion from sixth to seveth), and the team will jump above Honda-supplied rivals British American Racing to fifth in the Constructors' Championship.
