British GP Decision Due in December

Tuesday October 23rd, 2001

FIA president Max Mosley will sit down and look at proposals to reduce ticket numbers for the 2002 British Grand Prix, but has said that a decision on the future of the event, which is only provisionally on the 2002 calendar, will not be made until December.

Mosley admitted that he will look closely at race organisers Octagon's plans to reduce the number of tickets by 30,000 once he has received the results of an investigation by the Motor Sport Association into traffic congestion at this year's event.

"We will look and chat about the proposals put forward by Octagon and the MSA report once it is complete at the next World Motorsport Council meeting in December and make a decision then," Mosley said.

Octagon, the organisers, revealed plans on Monday to reduce the available ticket numbers in a bid to ease traffic flow around the circuit which has plagued the race for years.
