By Marcel Borsboom, Netherlands
Atlas F1 Magazine Writer

With the first double qualifying session completed for 2004, the differentials are once again on a roll! Let's see which drivers deserve bragging rights.

Malaysian Notables

  • Setting the Record Straight: The Malaysian Grand Prix saw the best qualifying results for Jaguar's Mark Webber (2nd) and Christian Klien (13th), and Minardi's Gianmaria Bruni (16th). The latter's teammate, Zsolt Baumgartner, equally his previous best (17th).

  • Exclusions from the first session: Jordan's pair of Nick Heidfeld and Giorgio Pantano were excluding from the first qualifying chart, after Pantano failed to set a timed lap.

  • Exclusions from the second session: Jenson Button and Takuma Sato of BAR, as well as Fernando Alonso and Jarno Trulli of Renault have been excluded from the second qualifying chart, after Sato and Alonso failed to set a timed lap.

The Elevator

This chart reflects the position changes between the first part and the second part of qualifying. Whether it has any meaning, we leave it up to you to decide...
