Damon Hill was the fastest man at Silverstone(England) today. He came to a best time of 1:28.50 in changing weather conditions. Alesi was second in the Benetton with 1:30.17. Brundle was third with 1:30.23.

Schumacher tested the same car as Larini did yesterday and he drove a track record with it in the morning: 1:27.19. However Schumacher had another engine failure when he tried to run complete race distance in the afternoon.

Schumacher defended his team and Jean Todt by saying after the tests: "Those who write this stuff in the newspapers, who kick up such a storm know nothing about Formula One. Jean Todt is one of the best people at Ferrari. If you want to destroy Ferrari, then kick out Todt. It's not right I get all the praise when we have a good race and the team get the blame when we lose."

Frentzen was testing at Monza (Italy) for his team Sauber-Ford, he stayed behind Schumacher with almost a second: 1:28.12.
