Roberto Fontana tested the Sauber-Ford at the Mugello (Italy) circuit. He didn't do as well as Frentzen did yesterday but he also doesn't get much practice in a Formula One car. He tested new aerodynamic features with a best time of 1:30.9.

The Ferrari team have announced that they will use the new 7 speed gearbox in the next Grand Prix in Belgium. The gearbox is doing very well during the tests at the Barcelona (Spain) circuit now. Ferrari were hesitating to use the new box, which was tested for the first time a few months ago, because they didn't want their cars to brake down in a race because of it.
