Williams-Renault and Arrows-Yamaha were testing on the Le Castellet (France) circuit. Frentzen completed 81 laps with a best time of 1m 06.5s for the Williams team while Damon Hill did 63 laps in the Arrows. Hill suffered technical difficulties again and did a 1m 08.6s.
