Ralf Schumacher to stay with Jordan

Ralf Schumacher announced yesterday that he would remain with Jordan Grand Prix for the 1998 season. Schumacher debuted with the team at the beginning of this season.

"I signed a two-year contract with Jordan and I am very happy to respect it." said Schumacher.

The Jordan team lose their Peugeot engine deal at the end of this season, and the French engine constructor will be replaced by Mugen-Honda units.

Team Principal Eddie Jordan said "Ralf has made his statement to end any press speculation about his future which for 1998 has always been scheduled to be with Jordan."

Giancarlo Fisichella, Schumacher's current team mate announced last week that he would drive for Benetton in 1998.
