The plans for the rumored new BAT superteam appear to have vanished with news that Craig Pollock's deal with BAT appears to have collapsed.

Reynard, BAT and Pollock, who is also Jacques Villeneuve's manager, had been linked with the purchase of an existing Formula One team, to form the new BAT sponsored team in 1999.

Panis update

Olivier Panis has driven his first miles again, not in a Formula One car but in a Formula 3 car, just to get the `feel` again. He drove 45 laps on the Paul Ricard track and was very happy with the way things went.

He hopes to be back with the Prost team in October.

Hakkinen Disqualified

Mika Hakkinen has been stripped of his 3rd place finish in the Belgian Grand Prix last month, and the team fined, for using fuel which was found not to conform to the FIA rules.

The FIA accepted that the both McLaren and Mobil had acted in good-faith, and a simple mistake had unfortunately been made.

The new result of the Grand prix now means that Jacques Villeneuve moves a point closer in the World Championship table to Michael Schumacher. Schumacher has 66 points and Villenueve now has 55 with five races remaining.

In 1995's Brazillian Grand Prix, Mika's current Team mate, David Coulthard, and Michael Schumacher has their points reinstated after fuel irregularities. Both their teams were still fined and lost points from their Constructor's Championship Total.
