• The Stewart team will have a new engine at their disposal at the European Grand Prix at Jerez. The new engine has more power and has more drive-ability.

• Minardi sources say Ukyo Katayama and Tarso Marques will stay with the team in 1998. Katayama planned to go to CART next season but he may be persuaded by the sponsor Mild Seven.

• Jos Verstappen is most likely going to stay with the Tyrrell team in 1998.

• A provisional calendar will be available on Atlas F1 News in a couple of days.
