Jos Verstappen ended his test-run for the Benetton team on a drying Silverstone track yesterday. He drove 46 laps with a best time of 1:29.58s.

It is still unsure if he will now get the testing seat. He is also talking to Zakspeed Porsche team for a seat in the GT Championship. Negations are said to be in the final stages.

After Estoril was struck off the calendar, it was speculated that China or South Africa would replace it. However, all the teams have to give their approval for such a calendar change. The teams will approve, only if they get some financial compensation for it. Bernie Ecclestone has said that he does not have the means to grant such a request. So it looks now that there will only be 16 races this season.
