Testing at Silverstone - Second Day; Testing at Mugello

Wednesday August 18th, 1999

On the second of the three-days testing at Silverstone, McLaren's Mika Hakkinen kept his lead, again setting the fastest time of the day. Heavy rain meant that a lot of the day was spent running on wet weather tyres apart from the early morning session. A respite from the rain also provided the chance to run briefly on grooved tyres in the afternoon before the showers returned 30 minutes before the end of the session.
