David Coulthard was again the fastest man on the track today. He tested several new components for the 2000 McLaren. Nick Heidfeld impressed with the second fastest time in the Prost. He was 1.3 seconds faster than his team-mate Jean Alesi.

Ralf Schumacher was again last with the BMW-Williams. BMW Motorsport Director Gerhard Berger commented: "The test did fulfil our expectations. We had incidents, but these will give us further important knowledge for our preparation programme."
