Testing Ends at Barcelona

Friday December 17th, 1999

Arrows driver Pedro de la Rosa was fastest today on the last day of testing at Barcelona.

In cold conditions, de la Rosa went over a second faster than yesterday, while continuing to work on parts for the 2000 car, especially the electronics systems and gearbox. F3000 driver Tom Coronel worked on a similar program and was a much-improved third fastest. Between them, they completed just over a race distance, bringing Arrows' total during the December tests to over 2,500 km.

After Tom Coronel's Formula One testing debut with Arrows the previous day, 19 year old British Formula 3 driver Jenson Button made his testing debut for Prost, setting a respectable time which was faster than Jean Alesi's best yesterday, and just over a second slower than Nick Heidfeld's time today.
