Repsol Continues With Arrows

Thursday December 16th, 1999

Arrows announced today that Spanish oil company Repsol YPF will continue their association for the year 2000. The company changed its name to Repsol YPF S.A. after its recent acquisition of Y.P.F. (Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales). Furthermore, although Arrows have not yet announced their full driver line-up for next season, the team has taken the option on Pedro de la Rosa to continue to drive for them.

Jorge Segrelles, Director of External Relations for Repsol YPF commented: "1999 proved a learning curve for us all, but we have every confidence in Arrows to be competitive during next season. We are happy to renew our association with the team for another year and have great faith in Pedro’s ability to do well."

Tom Walkinshaw added: "Naturally we are delighted that Repsol YPF has decided to renew their association with us for another year. I also have been very impressed with Pedro’s maturity and professionalism during his first year with the team and I am confident that we will be able to provide him with a car and engine for next season, that will help him achieve competitive results."
