Tyrrell Appointed Temporary President of BRDC

Monday November 15th, 1999

Ken Tyrrell, former boss and owner of the Tyrrell F1 team, was appointed temporary president of the British Racing Drivers' Club - owner of the Silverstone circuit. Tyrrell replaces Lord Hesketh, who resigned from his position a couple of months ago, following the take-over attempt of Brands Hatch Leisure and its chief, Nicola Foulston.

The president of the Club is elected by the general meeting of BRDC's members, scheduled for later this year. In the mean time, Tyrrell will act as temporary president, saying that, "It's keeping me busy but it's not as if I've got much else to do."
