Eddie Irvine's Marco Polo Tour - Day Four

Sunday October 10th, 1999

Irvine on an Elephant in IndiaEddie Irvine woke on Sunday morning in Delhi, his stomach feeling slightly better, he said. The options were to go and visit a temple, a weaving loom or ride an elephant. Eddie didn't seem too keen on the elephant, but the elephant didn't mind, so the pair were united. "Not exactly the Ferrari of the animal world," quipped Eddie. In fact, it seems that there are only a few elephants in India on which you can ride, so it was quite an exclusive trip.

After that, the party headed straight for the airport for a short hop to Calcutta where they refuelled the Falcon 10 jet and then flew another 2 hrs and 40m to Phuket where they will stay until Wednesday.

They're staying at a resort hotel where the options for entertainment are endless: tennis, scuba diving, a lovely beach and lush green countryside, all washed over with a cool breeze and sunshine. "It's not too hot," reports Eddie as he begins to relax prior to the real business of the week, the Malaysian Grand Prix which starts next Friday.
