Toyota confirmed today that they will withdraw from the RWC at the end of this season. "We intend to end our participation as a factory team at the end of this year," said Gwyn Dolphin, manager of marketing at Toyota Motorsport. "We will continue our development for private teams and for commercial purposes but will not contest next year's championship."

Dolphin also said that with regards to Toyota's future plans - presumably to concentrate on their return to Formula One - the company would give details at their annual conference in Tokyo in December.
