Williams driver Ralf Schumacher topped the timesheet on the second day of testing at Estoril, Portugal, where stormy conditions continued to interupt testing for the Michelin-shod teams.
The young Schumacher set a time of 1:31.09 - over half a second faster than teammate Juan Pablo Montoya, who finished the day second.
The weather conditions hampered the teams' plans, and so by late morning, all three teams present - Jaguar, Williams and Benetton - agreed to douse the circuit with water and go for a full wet test, rather than wait for the track to dry.
The teams had completed just two runs (typically, five timed laps on one type of tyre), with the dousing tankers out between each run, before an unscheduled shower completely drenched the circuit.
Testing continues tomorrow at Estoril.
