Another Successful Day for Irvine at Silverstone

Thursday February 3rd, 2000

Eddie Irvine said he was very happy with the progress the Jaguar Racing team had made, after completing a two-day test at Silverstone today.

Using the second and third Jaguar R1 chassis, Irvine drove today 101 laps, continuing with the systems development work started yesterday. The team also practised two pitstops and worked on the balance of the car, despite drizzle falling on the track for the last 20 laps of the day. Irvine's best time around the 1.64-mile Silverstone National circuit was 43:50s.

Andy Miller, Jaguar's race director, said the team was in a good position as it headed to the Barcelona test next week. Both Eddie Irvine and Johnny Herbert – who is now at home in Monaco after a training session in France - will drive the car at the Circuit de Catalunya, Spain, from next Thursday (February 10th) to Sunday.
