Barcelona Testing - Day Two

Schumacher makes a face at Barcelona, todayTuesday January 18th, 2000

This was the second and last day of testing for Ferrari's Michael Schumacher at the Barcelona circuit, where he was joined by the Benetton pair of Giancarlo Fisichella and Alex Wurz.

At the Barcelona circuit, Schumacher ran an F399 which was fitted with lighter Brembo brakes. Testing began at 9:00 and ended at 17:30. During the morning, the brake testing which started yesterday was completed, while in the afternoon tyre testing was carried out, after a pause to fix a transmission problem.

The German covered a total of 66 laps, with a best time of 1:21.010 - just 0.003s slower than the time set by Rubens Barrichello last week (1:21.007).

The Benetton team were also at Barcelona, with Giancarlo Fisichella completing nine laps in last year's B199 with a fastest time of 1:25.095, while Alexander Wurz completed three laps in the new B200, although no time was recorded.
