Barrichello Tests at Mugello

Friday May 12th, 2000

Rubens Barrichello completed a day of testing at Mugello yesterday.

A damp track led to a late start to testing. Barrichello worked mainly on car set-up. In the afternoon, he completed a long run test, split into three sections. At the end of the day, the team again practised refuelling stops. Barrichello's fastest lap for the day was a 1:28.018.

"I would say that 88 laps at Mugello are always good," said Barrichello. "With this engine, we did endurance testing, it all went well and everything is fine. The car improves with every lap we do. The Mugello track is always a bit dirty on the first day, but today the lap times were not important. The most important thing is that we finished the race simulation. Therefore, we are happy with the day's work."

Rubens Barrichello continues at Mugello today.
