Prost Grand Prix have announced that Pedro de la Rosa has joined the team as reserve and test driver for the 2001 season, ending the speculation about the Spaniard's future.
As it was revealed in the Atlas F1 Daily Grapevine last week, de la Rosa has signed a two-year deal with the French outfit.
De la Rosa was dumped by the Arrows team last week, only a month before the start of the season, being replaced by Brazilian Enrique Bernoldi.
The Spaniard will be Prost's third driver, together with Frenchman Jean Alesi and Argentinean Gaston Mazzacane.
"I am delighted to welcome Pedro to our team at the eve of a very promising season", said team boss Alain Prost.
"I am confident that his experience in Formula One, as well as the talent he has already shown in the past, will be an important support to Jean and Gaston, and will contribute to the achievement of the team's ambitions."
