 Jaguar Put the Brakes on Silverstone Move Thursday March 29th, 2001 Jaguar's plans to move their Formula One headquarters to Silverstone are on hold and the team is looking at other sites, team boss Bobby Rahal said on Thursday. "We've reached an impasse. We just haven't been able to negotiate a package that makes economic sense for us," Rahal said in the run-up to the Brazilian Grand Prix. Jaguar have been looking to move from their central England headquarters in Milton Keynes in order to have the chassis production, the Cosworth engine factory and a planned wind tunnel together on one site. Jaguar said last November they had secured planning permission for a development near the Silverstone circuit but Rahal said that announcement was premature. "I guess we're clearly looking at all aspects of the program. The number one priority from day one has always been a proper wind tunnel and research and development centre," he said. "We're looking at alternate sites as well. I expect that in 50 to 90 days we'll have our plan and we'll go forward at that point, wherever that may be." Rahal said the other sites were near Jaguar's current base.
