BAR Appeal to be Heard in June

Friday May 18th, 2001

Sauber's Kimi Raikkonen will hear on June 1st whether he will be punished or not after the BAR team claimed he had overtaken a car with yellow flags on the track during the Austrian Grand Prix.

British American Racing (BAR) lost their protest against the Finnish Sauber driver, who finished fourth in the race last Sunday, but their appeal will be heard by the FIA's International Court of Appeal in Paris the first day of June.

BAR claim that Raikkonen overtook Prost driver Luciano Burti under yellow flags and if the protest rejection was overturned, BAR driver Olivier Panis could be promoted to fourth place and Raikkonen would drop to fifth.
