The Arrows Formula One team confirmed on Friday that energy drink brand Red Bull will continue its sponsorship of the Leafield-based outfit in 2002.
"This announcement represents the first fruits of our collaboration in the important US market and I am delighted that, through our varied motorsport activities, both Arrows and TWR are able to provide a platform for Red Bull's global marketing strategies, now and in the future," said Arrows boss Tom Walkinshaw.
Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz, who is ending his interest in the Sauber team at the end of this year, said his company will also sponsor Team Cheever in the Indy Racing League.
"Tom and I share the same vision of wanting to develop a US motorsport strategy alongside our Formula One interests," he said. "I am pleased to confirm therefore that the Red Bull logo will be seen at the heart of US motorsport in the IRL with Team Cheever as well as in Formula One with Arrows."
The Austrian, who is hoping to sell his 64 percent stake in Sauber for an estimated $33 million, said earlier this year he planned to take over Arrows and turn it into an American team with American drivers.
