Barrichello Wary of Williams Threat

Monday October 22nd, 2001

Brazilian Rubens Barrichello believes the Williams team will be hard to beat in 2002 after a strong performance this season.

The BMW-powered cars scored four wins in 2001 thanks to their drivers Ralf Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya, and despite coming third in the Constructors' Championship behind Ferrari and McLaren, Barrichello thinks they will be among the favourites next year.

"Williams are living a very special moment," Barrichello told O Globo. "They will be hard to beat. McLaren will want to improve after this year, so they will be among the favourites too."

Ferrari driver Barrichello, who finished in third place in the Championship behind teammate Michael Schumacher and McLaren's David Coulthard, is aiming to enjoy a better year in 2002 with the Italian team.

"My expectations are the best possible," Barrichello added. "There are a lot of things that I have to improve, but right now I want to go on vacation. I will think about next season after that."
