Wilson to Test for Jordan at Silverstone

Tuesday September 4th, 2001

Newly-crowned Formula 3000 champion Justin Wilson will be handed his Formula One testing debut by Jordan in two weeks time at Silverstone.

The team confirmed on Tuesday that Wilson, 23, will test at the Northamptonshire circuit after the Italian Grand Prix as he looks to move into Formula One. The Sheffield-based driver has also been linked with a move to McLaren after team boss Ron Dennis confirmed he would be giving him a test in the next few months.

Wilson was rumoured to be ready to test for Jordan this week, but the team have confirmed that he will not get into the car until Silverstone.
