Victory Hasn't Changed Me, Says Raikkonen

Thursday April 3rd, 2003

Kimi Raikkonen said today that his maiden Grand Prix victory at the Malaysian Grand Prix 11 days ago has not changed him and that he will approach this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix just like before his victory at Sepang.

"The win hasn't changed my life at all," said Championship-leader Raikkonen at the press conference at the Interlagos circuit. "Maybe I got a little bit more of my face in the newspapers, but all the rest is the same and I think how I approach this weekend's race is going to be the same."

McLaren and rivals Ferrari will both still race their 2002-spec cars in Brazil after delaying the introduction of their new designs to ensure they are reliable when they arrive at their first race.

Ferrari are set to introduce their new car at the San Marino Grand Prix, the race after this weekend's event, while McLaren, who have not yet tested their latest machine, are likely to wait longer.

Raikkonen insisted they will not take a different approach and said: "We have benefited (from the wins) in terms of the Championship but we will do exactly the same thing we have done in the other races."
