Jaguar's Eddie Irvine has set his sights in surpassing the Benetton team for seventh place in the Constructors' Championship following the second consecutive point-scoring finish for the Milton Keynes team.
Spaniard Pedro de la Rosa finished in fifth place at the Italian Grand Prix two weeks ago, and Irvine repeated the result at today's United States Grand Prix, allowing Jaguar to move only one point behind Benetton in the standings with one race to go.
Irvine believes the Suzuka circuit in Japan will favour his team and they will be able to move ahead of Benetton in the final race of the season.
"It was great to get points," Irvine said. "I think we're only one point behind Benetton now. So if we can beat them in Suzuka, which if we can beat them anywhere, we can beat them in Suzuka, because both myself and Pedro have raced in Japan.
"It's the best circuit for us to be going, to beat them. It's a good day, beautiful day."
