Australian Mark Webber and his Minardi team carried out on Friday a one-day test at the Misano Adriatico circuit, in Southern Italy.
Webber, who gave Minardi their first points in nearly three years when he finished fifth in Australia, was at the wheel of the Asiatech-powered PS02 chassis, working through a technical programme that included assessing new front suspension geometry and brake cooling arrangements, plus traction control and launch control software.
"Today's test went well and allowed us to collect some good data," said Webber after the test. "We made quite a few changes to the car in the course of the day and the lads did these quickly, which allowed us to maximise our track time.
"We worked mainly on software, and this is the first time we've run a test with all of the systems working together, which is important for us. It has been a useful exercise."
This way, Minardi completed their preparations for the upcoming San Marino Grand Prix, which will have a special significance for the Faenza-based squad, as it will mark their 275th start in Formula One.
