BAR Wrap Up Four-Day Test at Paul Ricard

Sunday June 2nd, 2002

The British American Racing team completed on Saturday a four-day test at the Paul Ricard circuit in France, where the Brackley-based squad worked with their revised version of the 004 chassis, which will be used at next week's Canadian Grand Prix.

Frenchman Olivier Panis was in action during the first two days, working on evaluating the new aerodynamic package and running with an intermediate spec of the transmission components for Canada. Panis' fastest lap was 1:35.353, set on Thursday.

British test driver Anthony Davidson took over on Friday, making his debut at the French circuit. The Briton completed nearly 1,000 km during the two days, posting a quickest lap time of 1:34.215.

"I've had a good first test at Paul Ricard," said Davidson. "The weather has been warm and sunny throughout so we've had maximum track time to put plenty of miles on the car. We've done some good work with the tyres and generally the team are pleased with the progress we've made in preparation for Canada."

The British American Racing team are the only ones yet to score a point after the first seven races of the 2002 Championship.
