Badoer Kicks Off Mugello Test for Ferrari

Tuesday June 11th, 2002

The Ferrari team, winners of the Canadian Grand Prix last Sunday, were back in action today, with Italian Luca Badoer testing at the Mugello circuit.

The World Champions' test driver worked at the wheel of an F2002 chassis, concentrating mainly on tyre testing for Japanese manufacturer Bridgestone.

Badoer completed a total of 81 laps around the Italian track, 21 of them around the short version of the circuit, setting a quickest time of 1:23.980.

World Champion Michael Schumacher will take over from Badoer on Wednesday at Mugello, where the German will be joined by the Sauber team.
