Burti Kicks Off Jerez Test for Ferrari

Tuesday October 1st, 2002

Burti Kicks Off Jerez Test for FerrariBrazilian test driver Luciano Burti kicked off Ferrari's preparation work for the Japanese Grand Prix, testing at the Jerez circuit in Spain.

Burti, who had already tested at the Spanish circuit earlier this year, worked at the wheel of an F2001 chassis on a day of mixed weather conditions. The day started dry, but the rain began to fall early in the session, so the Italian squad carried out wet weather testing.

The test driver concentrated on tyre work both in the dry and in the wet, completing a total of 72 laps with a quickest time of 1:23.763.

Burti will continue testing at Jerez tomorrow and on Thursday.
