Ferrari Deny Link with Massa

Wednesday July 18th, 2001

Ferrari have denied that they have intention of signing young Brazilian Felipe Massa as test driver for the 2002 season.

Press reports in Italy claimed that the 20-year old European Formula 3000 driver would sign as a Ferrari test driver next season, to help develop the Italian cars alongside Luca Badoer. However, the team have ruled out the move.

"That is not true," said spokesman Claudio Berro. "Our test driver is Luca Badoer and we hope he will continue to be for a very long time."

Massa is currently leading the European F3000 series with three victories in as many races.
