British American Racing driver Olivier Panis beat the Monaco traffic on Friday using the "The Dutton Commander" - an amphibious car which is just as much at home on the road as it is in the water and is capable of speeds of up to 130kmh or 6 knots.

"I really enjoyed driving it - it's certainly different. It hasn't got a lot of power but it drives just like a boat and is great fun. I need to understand the balance of the car a little more but I'm feeling very confident," joked Panis.

"It doesn't have much downforce so I won't be pushing it to the limit - it's a very special car."

Panis' new toy is one of only 50 Duttons in the world, each one hand-built by Englishman Tim Dutton. They are sometimes used as tenders to larger boats so they are the perfect accessory for those who are lucky enough to be viewing the Monaco Grand Prix from the water.
