Coulthard in Legal Tangle

Monday May 28th, 2001

According to a report in The Sun newspaper, McLaren driver David Coulthard is being sued by a former flight attendant for injuries sustained during an accident in Monaco in 1999.

According to the report, Lucy Kennedy, 25, suffered back, neck and leg injuries when the Scot crashed his Mercedes SL500 into a bollard when Kennedy was with him in the car.

Claiming she lost her job due to her medical condition after the accident, Kennedy is reported to be suing Coulthard for £19,000 ($25,000).

"I wish I had never laid eyes on David Coulthard - I should never have got into that car with him," Kennedy was quoted as saying by The Sun. "Every time I see him on TV he is smiling. Yet the crash ruined my career."
