Campbell Settles Out of Court with Briatore

Saturday October 20th, 2001

Naomi Campbell in the Benetton pitsNaomi Campbell will receive a sum of £2 million (3 million USD) from her ex-boyfriend, Benetton team boss Flavio Briatore, Britain's The Mirror reports.

According to the newspaper, the former couple have reached a settlement out of court, after the supermodel sued the Italian for allegedly assualting her on the couple's yacht earlier this year, in Sardinia. Campbell claimed Briatore punched her face on August 6th this year, and she was rushed to a nearby hospital with swollen face and bloody nose.

Campbell, the Mirror says, will now receive £2 million as well as two houses from Briatore, and will drop the lawsuit in exchange. "Flavio is buying her a place in New York and another in London," the tabloid quoted a friend of Campbell's as saying. "She is being well looked after."

Campbell and Briatore made no comment.
