Capriati on track at Fiorano

Tuesday October 23rd, 2001

Jennifer Capriati, the world's tennis Number 1 woman player, paid a visit to Ferrari's factory today.

The American tennis star was testing her new car, 360 Modena F1, which she had received as a gift from Fila (which from 2002 will be an official supplier to Ferrari), in recognition of her extraordinary sporting season.

Capriati drove the car around Fiorano, at first sitting in the passenger seat, alongside the Company's chief test driver Dario Benuzzi, and then at the wheel. Capriati's parents, Stefano and Denise, also did a lap of the track in the 360.

"The 360 Modena is my favourite," said Capriati at the end of her test drive. "I would like it in blue, but I like red as well. It was great to get in a Ferrari. I had done it once before, but not alongside a real driver like today."

The day ended for the Capriati family with a visit to the factory and some publicity shots with the Ferrari cars, including the F1-2000, Ferrari F1 car from last year.
