Postlethwaite Dies in Spain

The Formula Once community suffered a great loss when Harvey Postlethwaite suffered a heart attack and died last night in Spain. Postlethwaite was supervising a Honda test session at the Circuit de Catalunya. Age 55, Postlethwaite designed cars for more than 20 years for Hesketh, Wolf, Ferrari and then Tyrrell. Among other developments, he is responsible for the introduction of high nose while at Tyrrell in 1990. Postlethwaite recently joined the Honda F1 endeavor after the BAR purchase of Tyrrell.

Postlethwaite is survived by his wife and two children.
