After only one day's break, several teams were back to testing, the first bunch - Jordan, Benetton and Stewart - appearing yesterday at Silverstone, for the first of a three day test.

Jordan's Heinz-Harald Frentzen completed the first day of testing for the team. He tested different aerodynamic setups in preparation for the Canadian Grand Prix. A revised specification engine was also tested. The team encountered no major problems apart from a slight hydraulic leak, which was quickly rectified.

Benetton, who had two cars running the tests, ran the aero package for the Canadian Grand Prix on both Alexander Wurz and Laurent Redon's cars to put miles on the components. They also worked on setup for Canada.

McLaren's David Coulthard and Stewart's Rubens Barrichello were also present, the former setting the fastest time of the day.
