Former World Champion Mika Hakkinen and his wife Erja are embracing their first born child - a healthy baby boy who weighed over four kilograms, born today in Finland.

"It's been really exciting...my head is spinning and I didn't even remember to check how tall the boy was," Hakkinen was quoted as saying in the Ilta-Sanomat tabloid.

The baby was born only slightly before his expected date, at Christmas. However, Mika Hakkinen said a few weeks ago, in an exclusive Interview, that he hoped the baby would be born earlier than planned. "It would be great for the family to have a baby around Christmas. Everyone would love that," Hakkinen said back then.
