Brazilian Rubens Barrichello sent out a warning after he topped the times in Sunday morning warm-up in another session dominated by Ferrari and McLaren.
The Ferrari driver posted a quickest lap time of one minute and 20.680 seconds as he outpaced second-placed Mika Hakkinen, who is looking for a fourth successive victory at the Circuit de Catalunya.
Hakkinen's McLaren team-mate David Coulthard suffered an engine failure at the end of the 30 minute session, but managed third in the timesheets ahead of pole-sitter Michael Schumacher.
Benetton's Jenson Button, struggling with a shoulder injury, failed to appear in the early stages of the session, but ended 15th quickest after emerging late.
