Schumacher brothers Michael and Ralf topped the times in Saturday's opening practice session for the European Grand Prix.
Ferrari's Michael was more than two-tenths of a second quicker than his Williams driving brother with a fastest lap time of one minute and 16.308 seconds as the duo outpaced the McLarens of Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard.
Finn Hakkinen was third quickest in the timesheets after a late lap time moved him ahead of Coulthard, while Ferrari's Rubens Barrichello and Williams Juan Pablo Montoya, who missed the chicane on a fast lap, completing the top six.
British American Racing's Jacques Villeneuve ended the session seventh quickest despite losing the last ten minutes after spinning into the gravel trap at turn five.
